About
SUBMISSION Submission deadline: The deadline has for submission is 23.59 PM on Monday June XXth 2025. 10 pages max - this can be sketches, renders and or a model (however best represents your design and its story). A3 Size (420*297mm), JPEG format and resolution ratio greater than 300 DPI. Layout form is not limited. Each page should be a maximum file size of 3MB. File types accepted: Images, Videos, Documents (e.g. PDFs). No 3D data or compressed file (ZIP, RAR etc.) formats can be accepted. Please use jpegs or animations to showcase any 3D if you have it. Links to external ftp sites are also not permitted.
CONTENTS Contents needs to include: Introduction to your proposal, with clear and concise written explanation in English. Evidence of research at the foundation of your concept. Sketches and ideation development. Single theme colour renderings of front and rear 45 degree perspective views, side view with package drawing with basic dimensions to evaluate scale and ergonomics. You may also supply additional relevant aspects and materials, including development of 3D model, animation etc. although these are not expected at this stage. Please note we can not accept any 3D directly, please send images and / or animations formats only. Please clearly include your name, university, year of study, year of graduation, nationality including a photograph on the title page of your work. A CV can also be submitted alongside your proposal.​ Please also indicate whether or not you have a UK visa or the right to work in UK. ___
INTERNSHIP Requirements for internship: We will be offering up to 6 intern placements to be completed out at our studio in Central London from July to the middle September. To qualify, students must have the right to work in the UK, in accordance with UK visa rules. Further information can be found at the https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration In addition to the studio internship, we are also offering a minimum of 3 remote internships that can be conducted with students residing outside of the UK and unable to obtain a visa. The timing and duration is subject to change depending on the competition timing, and individual circumstances of the selected students. The internship is paid , further details will be discussed at the time of offering the internship. About the SAIC Design Challenge
The SAIC Design Challenge has been running for 12 years and organised by the global SAIC Design Team.
The competition aims to help SAIC achieve the aspirations of an International Automotive Brand, through the cultivation of automotive design talent with an International Perspective. It has been a fundamental tool to assist young students achieve their automotive design dream.
In recent years it has become an international stage for all the colleges and universities, and their students studying design at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as a platform to develop and showcase their talents.
